Vintage Americana 1st Birthday Cake (2439)
This weekend we traveled to Whitehouse Station NJ to celebrate Luke’s first birthday. Luke’s momma is my longtime friend and I wanted to make sure we created a special cake for his first birthday celebration.
We achieved a vintage feel by airbrushing the tiers, giving them a more “worn” look. The bottom and top cake tiers represent the American flag while the middle tier was festively adorned with red, white and blue flags. The color scheme and American flag decorations for this cake also helps it double as a festive 4th of July or Memorial Day Cake.
The top tier was lemon cake with raspberry chambord, the middle was chocolate with oreos and cream buttercream, and the final tier was red and blue velvet and vanilla with vanilla Italian meringue buttercream to mimic the American flag.
On top of the cake sits a cute little red wagon with a teddy bear and a “1”. This cake would not be complete without stars on wires!
Luke we were so happy to be able to celebrate with you. Happy Birthday!
Here’s a video I shot at the bakery:
