Tea for two or two for tea?  No matter what you prefer, teapot cakes can certainly serve more than two guests, and they’re not just for tea parties!  Teapot cakes come in all shapes and sizes. They add a touch of whimsy and elegance to showers, birthday parties and themed events.  But don’t take my word for it- see for yourself!  Take a look at some of our favorite teapot cake designs and some of our cutest teacup favors, too.

Teapot Themed Cakes

If you’re planning an afternoon tea for your bridal or baby shower, you can continue the theme with a gorgeous teapot cake.  Each one has a special touch, color or accent all its own.  Like this baby shower cake with its bold stripes and shades of blue and green.  A hand-painted teapot sits atop a miniature cake table, complete with fondant tablecloth and delicately piped flowers.  Not to be missed is the adorable doggy sitting in a teacup by the bottom tier!

Teapots can be made in any color, or accented with flowers and ribbons, like this adorable lavender birthday cake. From its swirly handle to its pudgy polka dots, it’s the epitome of sweet!  The matching fondant teacups on the second tier add color and texture beneath white sugar roses.

This lavender teapot cake has a lavender colored cake inside, too!

Our little, hand-sculpted baby at the bottom of this cake thinks he’s the star, but really, the colorful teapot on top takes the cake!  The fondant blades of grass, springtime flowers and pastel colors bring the feel of a garden party right to the table!

Delicate details make this teapot cake special.

Afternoon tea takes on a whole new meaning when your tea table is edible!  This cake (yes, it’s a cake!) was created for a fundraiser at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and is actually a replicated tea table, teapot, and tea set.  Don’t forget a scone to nibble on, too!  Highlighted by soft pink roses and fluttering butterflies, even the fondant tablecloth looks real. Notice the hand-painted details on the teapot and tea set?

Let them eat cake! And the table, and the teapot…

We made a similar version of this teapot table cake for another celebration.  This one featured hand-painted accents, gold detailing and sugar flower bouquets.  Some sweet little butterflies have joined in the fun, too!  And why wouldn’t they, when the cake is pink velvet with cream cheese filling?

Teapot and cup saucer cake

This teapot cake almost looks too pretty to eat.

Perhaps the most famous tea party occurred in Wonderland.  Who could forget the Mad Hatter at the head of the table? Several of our favorite cakes pay homage to Alice’s tale, and even though they might not have a teapot as their focal point, they were inspired by the wildest tea party in childrens’ literature!  Like this sweet sixteen topsy turvy cake, which features the white rabbit, his pocket watch, teacups, playing cards, mushrooms and more!  There is a teapot hidden in there somewhere.  Can you spot it?

Alice in Wonderland Birthday Cake Whimsy

Can you find the teapot and tea cup?

Our unique ‘One’derland birthday cake features three teetering teacups on top of a two-tiered cake.  A gold-scrolled “1,” and the infamous pocket watch help to make this cake fun and festive.

Subtle hints of Wonderland appear on this four-tiered Bat Mitzvah cake, but the teapot topper remains at center stage. The pocket watch makes another appearance, as do ruffles, playing card symbols, polka dots and diamonds.  Sugar flower roses in honor of the Red Queen add colorful accents throughout.
