Starry Night (97)
So a client asked me to create an interpretation of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” On a cake for her daughter’s baby shower. She asked me to incorporate some pink in with the blue since they weren’t sure of the sex of the baby. Starry Night is her daughter’s favorite painting – so she thought it would be a cool surprise!
I started out by marblizing lavender, blue and white fondant as my ‘canvas.’
Then I drew the little village around the sides of the cake with food coloring pens and used black fondant to create the Cypress tree.
Then I used gel food color and paint brushes to create my interpretation of the brooding sky and stars! A little luster dust and VOILA!
