Meet Marcie, our intern extraordinaire! Marcie is a student at The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY. She is completing her 15 week externship with us and has been doing an incredible job! She is a great self starter and has become very proficient at multi-tasking – doing everything from making cookie dough to cake pops to filling and icing cakes, as well as decorating some custom cakes!

A typical day for Marcie starts by filling the Boutique case – which includes baking off fresh cookies and other items. She may work on decorative sugar cookies, covering them with rolled fondant and using royal icing for added embellishment. Marcie also will often fill, square off and ice some of our buttercream cakes, using various piping techniques! Some days she also assists with sugar work, like cupcake or cake decorations made from fondant and gum paste.

Finally, she is very adept at making many of our boutique items, including our gluten free chocolate hazelnut brownies, cheesecake pops, cookies and more!

She is very hard working and has a great sense of humor, which always helps when working with us and our ridiculous shenanigans 🙂 We are so happy you are with us Marcie, and are really enjoying watching your awesome cakery progress! Thank you for all of your hard work!
