Gisel’s Circus Themed Birthday Cake (2553)
Five years ago Terence reached out to us to create a first birthday cake for their daughter Gisel. Well Gisel just turned five, and we were thrilled to hear from the family again!
The two tier topsy turvy cake was inspired by the party’s invitation and brings together a circus and carnival theme. The top tier is decorated in white with red stripes to mimic a carnival tent. The face of the tier includes a cutout of an elephant balancing upon a ball with a small red bird perched atop his back. Red, blue and yellow balloons and a scrolled yellow ‘5’ for Gisel’s birthday round out the remaining decorations.
The next tier is covered in tiffany blue fondant with red, yellow, white and lighter blue polka dots. A white plaque with yellow trim decorates the face of the tier. Circus font with “Gisel” is was piped in red.
Along with the cake, we included 2 dozen vanilla and red velvet cupcakes with blue elephant cutouts and the number 5 written in red.
Update: We recreated this cake for Aarav’s first birthday. We used Gisel’s cake as inspiration and took the elephant figure from this cupcake tower as inspiration.
