You can add lacework accents to a wedding cake in a traditional manner, or try something more unique. Black lace is truly bold and eye-catching, especially on this floral wedding cake. Three tiers of contrasting black and white make this cake a memorable focal point. Interior fillings were just as dazzling as the exterior, and included red velvet with vanilla Italian meringue, and vanilla with raspberry chambord buttercream. It was inspired by this towering crystal wedding cake, which featured black lacework and sparkling crystals on each tier.
Black lacework makes another appearance on this unique three-tiered wedding cake. Cascading red curtains adorn the top tier and black bricks with red fondant highlight the bottom. Red sugar flower roses and accent colors of white and gold can be found throughout.
Beautiful color contrasts can be found on this five-tiered lace inspired wedding cake. Black lace accompanies shades of hot pink, fuschia, and purple sugar orchids, hydrangeas and roses .
If you prefer a more traditional form of lace on your cake, take a look at this ruffle inspired ivory wedding cake. It includes asymmetrical ruffles, pearl accents and clusters of sugar peonies with pale green hydrangea. A monogram is featured at the center, surrounded by delicate lace detail.
This three-tiered blush beauty contains lace overlays, sugar peonies and roses. A sparkling crystal brooch appears in the middle, along with a fondant blush band. We worked with Jenny Orsini Events to design this cake.
Speaking of Jenny Orsini, we worked with her again when we designed this incredible five-tiered wedding cake for comedian and actor, Tracy Morgan. Edible sugar lace and over 1500 sugar flowers were just some of the reasons this cake was so spectacular. At over five feet tall, it was a sight to behold!
Here’s a gorgeous wedding cake that featured a more modern form of lace design, with three tiers and delicate sugar flowers inspired by the bouquets. The intricate designs cascades down each layer and across the cake separators.
Lace can be fine detail on a cake, as well. This two-tiered wedding cake features subtle traces of ivory lace along thin, black trim. Sugar flowers adorn the top tier and add soft color throughout.
Another example of subtle lace accents is this 4-tiered wedding cake featuring organza ribbon and lace appliqués. The appliqués add a soft, delicate touch to the cake and can even be designed to mimic the pattern of a bride’s dress.
The bride’s gown was used as inspiration for this topsy turvy wedding cake, too. Lace designs and pearl accents make the cake look like its dressed for the event!
Our country chic wedding cake featured lace accents along the top and bottom tiers, as well as a fondant bow and sugar peonies.
Lace Birthday Cakes and More
This Sweet 16 three-tiered cake was created with ivory peonies, quilted fondant with piped gold dots, and a soft blush ruffle. Lace appliqué adorns the second tier and adds delicate beauty. The interior was our signature pink velvet with vanilla buttercream.
Lace can make an appearance at baby showers, too! This pink and mint green baby shower cake is the picture of sweet elegance with contrasting fondant stripes. The gelatin wrap is completely edible and delicious, too!
Lace can make an obscure appearance at your event, too. These Easter cupcakes were used as place cards, and featured lace adorned cupcake liners.
