Piper’s Christening Cake! (2603)
We were thrilled to celebrate our daughter Piper’s Christening Sunday at the Market restaurant in Harding Township, NJ.
We had a wonderful time with family and friends and were treated wonderfully by the staff at the Market restaurant. For Piper’s baptism, we created these airy springtime cakes along with a collection of other wonderful and dainty treats – all appropriate for this sweet girl that we are blessed to have in our lives!
For the cake, we incorporated pink and white to match the invitations. We also incorporated our new favorite wafer paper technique to create the paper rose and ruffles that adorn all three cakes.
Ribbon bow and cross details in pink decorate all three cakes. The two side cakes were created to give the impression that the ruffles are exploding out of the top layer – a play on the springtime theme for the cakes. Flavors for the cakes included pink velvet with lemon cream cheese, lemon with blackberry, and chocolate with almond cream cheese and raspberry chambord.
Not to be outdone by the cakes, we also included french macarons. Each macaron was decorated with a P on top and flavors incldued pistachio, coffee and raspberry.
Pink ruffle cupcakes along with cross cookies rounded out the remaining treats for the dessert table.
