Whimsical Bridal Shower Teacup Cake with Ruffles

Whimsical Bridal Shower Teacup Cake

For Alison’s bridal shower we fashioned her this topsy turvy teacup themed cake to help celebrate. The top teacup is completely covered in chrysanthemum patterns to match the invitation while the second slightly larger cup includes a gold “A” and cluster of flowers at the base of the cup. The largest teacup at the bottom is covered in white fondant with three chrysanthemums equal spaced around the cup.’

The bottom is decorated with frilly ruffle patterns in an ombre pink pattern from light to raspberry pink.

Congratulations Alison! We were thrilled to receive this email after the event!

Hello Renee.
The tea cup cake for my daughter’s shower was absolutely beautiful. Everyone was really impressed with how detailed it was and it was delicious as well!!
I would like to set up a time to meet with you about a wedding cake – date is Sept. 19th. It won’t be quite as ornate as the tea cups!
I am away until 6/20. Happy to try to set something up after that.
Thank you so much. I look forward to working with you again.
Alison N.

Whimsy & Shabby Chic Bridal Shower Cake

Whimsical and Chic Bridal Shower Cake

Here’s another version of the cake we created for a special bridal shower with our friend, former intern and employee Kristin at the Smoke Rise Inn in Kinnelon, NJ. To celebrate her special event, we lovingly constructed this multi-tiered topsy turvy (or should I say leaning?) tea party themed cake.

The bottom tier of the cake includes light and dark pink ombre ruffle decorations with an ivory bow separating the last two tiers. Sitting above the bottom two tiers are a bouquet of sugar flowers in bright spring colors. Complimenting the bouquet, we painted a portrait of flowers on the teapot. (For more about painting on cakes, see Anna’s article on the intersection of fine art and cakes.)

Each successive teapot on the cake was constructed to continue to slant off to the side. We painted additional flowers on the top tier and topped it off with additional sugar flowers.

Congratulations Kristin and Greg!
