About the Chef - Anne Heap
Since the age of six, Anne has had a love for baking that was
first inspired by her mother. Now twenty-two years later,
Anne is running her own specialty cake business, Pink Cake Box.
After graduating from Boston College, Anne began her Advertising career in 2001.
Her love for the kitchen continued, and she often treated her colleagues to freshly
baked cookies,
brownies and cakes. She
even joked that one day she would own her own cookie shop.
In August 2004, she began selling pastries to a local gourmet shop. Soon after,
she decided to leave her job in pursuit of her dream.
She studied Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, completed
an apprenticeship with Ron Ben-Israel Cakes in New York City and then became
the head pastry chef at Il Capriccio in
Whippany, NJ.
In 2005, she officially founded Pink Cake Box, working out of a restaurant kitchen.
Less than two years later, her success has led to the opening of her very own
specialty cake boutique in Denville, NJ.
